Our client is a growing design-build consultancy specializing in the planning, design, and execution of complex building projects across institutional sectors. Due to ongoing growth and a strong project pipeline, we are conducting a confidential search for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our clients team.

Job Description

  • Design electrical systems for new construction, renovation, and design-build projects.
  • Perform building service sizing and feeder calculations in compliance with applicable codes.
  • Develop electrical designs, calculations, specifications, and construction drawings.
  • Design systems for B2 and B3 buildings, including healthcare and institutional facilities.
  • Apply CSA Z32, NECB 2020, OESC, CEC, and relevant CSA standards.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams and stakeholders.
  • Participate in design reviews, commissioning, site inspections, and project delivery.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for licensure in Ontario.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in building electrical systems design.



Demonstrated experience performing:

  • Building service size calculations and documenting methodologies used to determine service capacity.
  • Feeder sizing calculations with supporting code references and engineering rationale.
  • Power distribution system design for institutional, healthcare, commercial, or industrial facilities.



Strong working knowledge of:

  • CSA Z32 Essential Electrical Systems.
  • National Energy Code of Canada (NECB) 2020.
  • Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC).
  • Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
  • Experience designing electrical systems for B2 and B3 Class buildings.
  • Proficiency with electrical design and analysis software such as ETAP, EasyPower, SKM, AutoCAD, Revit, or comparable platforms.
  • Strong understanding of power distribution, grounding, emergency power systems, lighting, and life-safety systems.
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
