As a Recovery Superintendent, you will oversee and manage the recovery operations within the pulp & paper setting in Thunder Bay. Your key focus will be on ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of recovery processes while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

This role uses AI-assisted tools to support initial screening. All assessments and decisions are made by a human reviewer.

Job Description

  • Lead the safe and efficient operation of recovery and utilities processes, including recovery boiler, evaporation, and stripping systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise recovery processes and improve efficiency.
  • Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance activities.
  • Train and mentor team members to enhance skills and performance.
  • Analyse operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare and present reports on recovery operations to management.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Recovery Superintendent should have:

  • Experience in recovery operations within the industrial/manufacturing sector.
  • First or Second Class Power Engineer Certification.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to analyse and improve operational processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
