The Civil Engineer/Project Manager will collaborate with both the construction division as well as Land Development department and perform the duties as required for multiple multi-family residential developments as well as some commercial/industrial projects.

Our client is a reputable and established general contracting firm focusing on civil contracting looking to further strengthen their team as a result of a robust pipeline of civil and infrastructure projects across Ontario.

Job Description

  • Site inspection and Contract administration related to site servicing/engineering contracts
  • Reviewing and analyzing change orders, payment certificates and tenders/bids
  • Overseeing and consulting on site servicing, site grading, Stormwater management, electrical servicing and utility coordination
  • Coordinating environmental and geotechnical testing and remediation
  • Attend site and design coordination meetings
  • Coordinating with all departments during all phases of construction, as required.
  • Assisting senior management in any and all tasks required related to the position, including property acquisition due dilgence
  • Obtaining municipal permits with various municipalities and governmental bodies during the development and construction phase
  • Issuing tender documents to sub-contractors and reward sub-contracts
  • Creating and maintaining project budgets

The Successful Applicant

  • University Degree in Engineering preferred
  • Certified Engineer preferred
  • Individual must possess a minimum of 3 to 6 years in the industry working for a Civil Engineering Consulting Firm, Contractor, or ideally on heavy civil bridge construction projects
  • Must have direct access to your own vehicle as travel required to multiple sites
  • Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings, design requirements and specifications related to residential development
  • Read and understand construction and shop drawings
  • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects at one time
  • Proven negotiation skills.
  • Experience in civil engineering and residential product
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills.
