They specialise in Light industrial, Recreational and Retail new build and renovation projects.Description de posteSite Superintendent - Edmonton - ICIPosition Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to lead the construction and renovation of a 120,000 sq. ft. gym facility in Edmonton. The successful candidate will oversee all on-site activities, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.This role is critical in coordinating subcontractors, managing site logistics, and maintaining strong communication with the project management team, consultants, and clients.Key Responsibilities: Project Execution & Site LeadershipManage day-to-day on-site construction activities for the gym project from mobilization to substantial completionSupervise and coordinate all trades, subcontractors, and suppliers onsiteDevelop and maintain a detailed construction schedule, ensuring milestones are achievedProactively identify and resolve site issues, conflicts, and delaysHealth & SafetyLead and enforce the company's health and safety program in compliance with Alberta OH&S regulationsConduct regular site safety meetings, hazard assessments, and inspectionsEnsure all workers adhere to safety standards and site protocolsQuality ControlEnsure all work meets project specifications, codes, and quality standardsConduct inspections and coordinate deficiency management and close-out processesWork closely with consultants and inspectors to ensure complianceCoordination & CommunicationCollaborate with Project Managers on budgeting, procurement, and schedulingMaintain clear communication with clients, consultants, and stakeholdersLead site meetings and provide regular progress updates and reportsLogistics & DocumentationOversee site logistics, material deliveries, equipment usage, and site organisationMaintain accurate site records including daily reports, manpower tracking, and progress updatesAssist in reviewing shop drawings and coordinating RFIsMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class otherwise protected under applicable human rights legislation. MPI encourages applications from minorities, women, the disabled and all other qualified applicantsLe candidat idéalSite Superintendent - Edmonton - ICIQualifications & Experience: RequiredMinimum 5+ years of experience in ICI construction, with at least 3+ years as a SuperintendentProven experience managing mid-to-large scale new build and renovation projects ($10M-$40M)Experience with large-format commercial facilities (fitness centers, recreation, retail, or light industrial projects preferred)Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and trade coordinationExtensive knowledge of Alberta building codes and safety regulationsSkills & CompetenciesStrong leadership and team management abilitiesExcellent problem-solving and decision-making skillsEffective communication and stakeholder managementAbility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentProficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam)Certifications (Preferred)Gold Seal Certification (GSC)CSTS, First Aid, and other safety certificationsTrade certification or construction-related diploma/degreeCe qui est offertA basic salary of up to $125,000 (dependent upon experience).
