Our client is an established General Contractor in the institutional buildings construction industry dedicated to projects across South Western Ontario.

Job Description

  • Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of institutional construction projects, specifically school and new build projects.
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Manage project budgets, monitor costs, and ensure financial targets are achieved.
  • Oversee procurement processes and negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and local building codes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project timelines and address any delays or challenges proactively.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Prepare detailed progress reports and updates for stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Project Manager should have:

  • Extensive experience in ICI General Contracting/Construction Management with a focus on school and institutional new build projects up to and in excess of $50M in scope.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills to manage project teams effectively.
  • A proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and deliver projects within scope.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes applicable to institutional construction.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
