This role leads the design, implementation, and optimization of secure, scalable network infrastructure across multi-site manufacturing environments in Canada and the U.S., supporting both IT and OT systems. It combines advanced technical expertise with leadership, including driving major initiatives, strengthening network security, enabling automation, and mentoring junior staff.

This role uses AI-assisted tools to support initial screening. All assessments and decisions are made by a human reviewer.

Job Description

  • Design and implement scalable, secure network infrastructure across multi-site manufacturing environments.
  • Work on major network initiatives including switch refresh programs, wireless modernization, fiber expansion, and redundancy improvements
  • Laiase with the Network Lead for business stakeholders, gathering requirements and translating them into technical execution.
  • Manage and optimize enterprise network components (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless APs) and ensure reliable performance to support high‑availability production operations.
  • Analyze and improve network capacity, performance, and resiliency across IT and OT environments.
  • Maintain and standardize network documentation, including IP schemas, switchport maps, and physical/logical topology.
  • Partner with plant operations, engineering, cybersecurity, and IT teams to define and implement network standards, micro segmentation, and Zero‑Trust‑aligned principles with operational requirements.
  • Strengthen network security posture through proactive monitoring, risk identification, and remediation strategies.
  • Advance network automation and monitoring using Ansible, NetBox, Auvik, and scripting (PowerShell/Python).
  • Coordinate and oversee vendor and contractor activities such as fiber runs, cabinet installations, and site expansions.
  • Mentor and coach junior and intermediate staff on network technologies, standards, and best practices.
  • Lead incident response and guide teams through complex troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
  • Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies to enhance security, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Promote an automation‑first and continuous‑improvement mindset across the network team.
