Reporting to senior leadership, this role is accountable for estimating and delivery performance of civil infrastructure projects. The position spans early-stage pricing and planning through construction, close‑out, and post‑project evaluation. The successful candidate will bring strong estimating and project leadership capability while remaining directly involved in cost control, planning, and execution oversight

This role uses AI-assisted tools to support initial screening. All assessments and decisions are made by a human reviewer.

Job Description

Estimating & Pre‑Construction

  • Develop competitive, well‑structured estimates through review of drawings, specifications, technical reports, and contract terms.
  • Establish pricing strategies, risk allowances, and delivery assumptions appropriate to project scope and complexity.
  • Complete detailed quantity take‑offs, cost models, and bid summaries for complex civil works.
  • Prepare preliminary execution strategies and schedule logic during the pricing phase.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of cost history and productivity benchmarks.



Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Assume full responsibility for awarded projects, managing scope, cost, schedule, quality, and risk.
  • Prepare and track budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and cost‑to‑complete.
  • Administer contracts, changes, progress billing, and project close‑out.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and municipal requirements.
  • Coordinate effective handover from estimating into construction to maintain continuity.



Collaboration & Team Leadership

  • Act as an active contributor to the site services leadership group.
  • Work closely with internal planners, designers, site supervision, and trade partners to optimize outcomes.
  • Mentor and support junior staff involved in estimating or project delivery.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across systems, processes, and practices.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and professionalism.



Stakeholder & Risk Management

  • Serve as a key point of contact for internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Lead coordination meetings and communicate project status, risks, and financial impacts clearly.
  • Support procurement and subcontractor negotiations to maximize value.
  • Identify and mitigate risks during both estimating and execution.
  • Participate in post‑project reviews to inform future planning and pricing.

The Successful Applicant

Education

  • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or a related discipline.



Licensing & Credentials

  • Valid Class G driver's license with ability to travel to project sites.
  • Professional designations (P.Eng., C.E.T., PMP) considered assets.



Experience & Skill Set

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in civil construction, estimating, and/or project management.
  • Strong technical knowledge of civil works including site servicing, earthworks, and linear infrastructure.
  • Advanced estimating, budgeting, and cost control capability.
  • Solid working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Proficiency with estimating and project management software.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision‑making ability.
  • Effective communicator with proven stakeholder and team leadership skills.
