Known for delivering practical, cost-effective building services solutions, the firm offers engineers significant project ownership, direct exposure to decision-makers, and the flexibility of a remote-first work environment.Job DescriptionDesign and coordinate electrical systems for multi-residential, condominium, apartment, and mixed-use residential developments in compliance with applicable codes and standards.Perform building electrical service size calculations and prepare supporting documentation using industry-standard load calculation methodologies and software.Design feeder and distribution systems, including conductor and equipment sizing, while applying relevant requirements of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).Prepare electrical drawings, specifications, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and design reports for permit and construction purposes.Review and apply code requirements for B2 and B3 building classifications.Ensure electrical designs comply with CSA Z32 Essential Electrical Systems requirements where applicable.Incorporate National Energy Code of Canada (NECB) 2020 requirements into electrical building designs.Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, developers, contractors, and utility providers throughout project delivery.Conduct site reviews and respond to construction-phase requests for information (RFIs), shop drawings, and field issues.Provide professional engineering review and sealing of design documents in accordance with provincial regulatory requirements.Support multiple projects simultaneously in a collaborative, fast-paced design-build environment.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class otherwise protected under applicable human rights legislation.
