We are looking for an experienced Chief Estimator to join a leading company in the buildings construction industry, specializing in ICI construction projects. This role is based in Toronto and involves overseeing ground-up new build estimating processes for ICI GC/CM projects.

This role uses AI-assisted tools to support initial screening. All assessments and decisions are made by a human reviewer.

Job Description

  • Lead the estimating process for ICI GC/CM ground-up new build projects in Toronto.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project teams to evaluate project requirements and timelines.
  • Analyze subcontractor bids and assist in the selection process.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of project plans, specifications, and other documents.
  • Maintain and update cost databases and estimating tools.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimators within the team.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies in all estimating activities.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Chief Estimator should have:

  • Extensive experience in ICI GC/CM ground-up new build estimating within the buildings construction industry, 10+ years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and costs.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Entrepreneurial and client facing ability / mentality
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities to manage and mentor a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate and timely estimates.
