On behalf of my client we are seeking a qualified Structural Engineer to join the Engineering & Manufacturing department within the property industry. This role, based in Mississauga, involves designing and analyzing structures to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulations.

This role uses AI-assisted tools to support initial screening. All assessments and decisions are made by a human reviewer.

Job Description

  • Design, analyze, and evaluate structural components and systems for various projects.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international building codes and standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to achieve project goals.
  • Prepare detailed reports, drawings, and specifications for structural designs.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor construction and ensure adherence to design specifications.
  • Utilize software tools to create structural models and simulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in structural engineering and materials.
  • Requires 20% travel to sites across the USA.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Structural Engineer should have:

  • Must hold a valid Canadian P.Eng (Professional Engineer) license.
  • Strong structural engineering background, including hands‑on experience with aluminum design.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.
  • Strong understanding of building codes and construction standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Experience in the property industry is considered an asset.
