About Our Client

Our client is a General Contractor based out of Vaughan, Ontario. Their projects range in value from $500,000.00 to over $30 million.

Job Description

Lead and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project objectives are met.
Implement and enforce safety protocols, ensuring a safe work environment for all team members.
Monitor and maintain project schedules, making adjustments as necessary to meet deadlines.
Perform quality control inspections to ensure workmanship and materials meet the highest standards.
Manage and coordinate all necessary resources, including labour, equipment, and materials.
Regularly report project progress to senior management and stakeholders.
Mentor and train project teams to maximize efficiency and productivity.
Handle any unforeseen issues or challenges that arise during construction and find effective solutions.
Ensure compliance with all local building codes and regulations.

The Successful Applicant

Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in institutional construction, with a focus on new build projects.
Proven experience managing projects in the range of $50 million or larger.
Strong preference given to candidates with previous experience in school development projects.
In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety standards.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
Relevant certifications and licenses (e.g., OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, etc.).
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
