We are representing a well-established and reputable general contractor in the London area who is looking to add a Senior Estimator to their team. Job Description

  • Lead the estimation process for large-scale construction projects valued at $10 million or more.
  • Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and scope of work to create accurate estimates.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary pricing and input.
  • Analyze and compare subcontractor bids to ensure cost-effective selections.
  • Prepare and submit bid packages, including scope of work and pricing breakdowns.
  • Provide input on constructability and value engineering to ensure projects stay within budget while meeting client expectations.
  • Assist in the preparation of project schedules and timelines in collaboration with project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and company standards.

The Successful Applicant

  • 8-10 years of experience as an Estimator with a general contractor, focusing on projects with values exceeding $10 million.
  • Proven track record of successful estimating in a variety of construction sectors (commercial, institutional, industrial, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and pricing.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects at once.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, or similar).
  • Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
