Job Description

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
  • Analyse project plans, specifications, and related documents to determine scope and costs.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop project budgets and schedules.
  • Lead and mentor the estimating team, ensuring consistent quality and performance.
  • Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies during the bidding process.
  • Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
  • Provide support in negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Stay updated on market trends, materials, and labour costs within the property industry.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior / Chief Estimator should have:

  • Strong expertise in construction estimation within the buildings general contracting industry, specifically light industrial new build projects.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and tools commonly used in the industry.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality and accurate work.
