About Our Client

Our client is an established ICI general contractor, dedicated to diversified commercial, institutional, and light industrial ground up new build and renovation projects across Canada. They pride themselves on delivering excellent quality product and service levels to the private and public sector owners they build for. Due to current growth, the organization is looking to attract a Project Manager to their London, ON business unit.

Job Description

  • Plan, direct, and ensure the implementation of construction projects entrusted in them
  • Consult with the client and stakeholders to determine the specific controls to the project and ensure the quality of execution and avoid non-compliance that could delay the work
  • Draft the contracts of consultants, specialists, and contractors; Manage endorsements, amendments, and change orders
  • Ensure the follow-up of the services rendered by the consultants (drawings, specifications, supervision or works, acceptance of works)
  • Participate in the site meetings of professionals and subcontractors
  • Track project costs
  • Manage change orders between professionals and subcontractors for cost estimation and work execution
  • Manage and follow up with contractors of all activities related to the progress of work on the construction site
  • Participate in the development and updating of the day to day schedule
  • Participate in contract negotiations
  • Prepare and follow up on technical questions in relation to plans and specifications
  • Management of customer and subcontractor payment requests; Management and review of shop drawings and samples
  • Monitor the follow ups of "Conflict Detections" when the project is carried out in BIM
  • Monitor and manage deficiencies
  • Participate in the analysis of the bids with the estimation team if necessary
  • Ensure that the project coordinator adequately manages the amendments and change orders
  • Perform other duties as required

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in construction engineering, civil engineering, building engineering, or holds a technology diploma in construction, architecture, or civil
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience, ideally working in a local market ICI general contracting environment
  • Ability to follow and control budgets and progressive invoicing; Mastery of MS office and MS Project software
  • Knowledge of Procore (an asset)
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Construction Code
  • Knowledge of the Human Rights Code and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • LEED accreditation (an asset)
  • Bilingual ability in French/English (an asset)
  • Ability to travel is a requirement
