Job Description

  • Manage the recruitment and selection process
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital
  • Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the organization
  • Developing programs to increase morale, such as bonuses or top performer rewards; Nurture a positive working environment
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
  • Maintain pay plan and benefits program for both US and Canadian entities
  • Assess training needs and work with department heads to create training programs
  • Ensure HR staff addresses employees' requests and grievances in a timely manner
  • Maintain HR procedures that comply with US and Canadian labor regulations
  • Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics
  • Manage Payroll Supervisor (Direct report) to ensure payroll submitted in an accurate and timely manner for both US and Canadian entities

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven Management experience - Experience dealing with complex HR issues and managing direct reports in previous roles
  • Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics
  • In-depth knowledge of labour law and HR best practices
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • BSc degree in Human Resources Management or Organizational Psychology
  • MSc degree in HR or relevant certification is a plus
