Reporting to the HR Manager, the Payroll Benefits coordinator is responsible for managing the weekly payroll, employee HR needs, designing and establishing HR best practices including compliance to ESA.The coordinator will also work on longer term plans of benefits, performance management and employee engagement.

About Our Client

Our client is well established player int he Manufacturing space. They are looking for a Payroll Benefits Coordinator who can report into the HR Manager. The role is fully on site

Job Description

  • Review timecards for error and/or omissions including schedule changes
  • Prepare weekly payroll for both hourly & salaried employees including office staff
  • Manage employee exceptions including vacation pay, garnishments, deductions, and other adjustments
  • Responsible for payroll journal entries in the ERP system
  • Answer and solve payroll related inquiries
  • Maintain electronic archives of active and inactive employee files
  • Hiring & termination setup in ADP including employee and pay profiles
  • Monthly WSIB Billing/Annual Reconciliation and submit payments
  • Roll-out employee agreements to all hourly and salaried employee
  • Monitor absenteeism and manage disciplines as required
  • Review wages and ensure pay rates are adjusted in the ADP system

The Successful Applicant

  • Possess a post-secondary education preferably with a degree/diploma in Human Resources, Business and/or Accounting
  • CHRP or CHRL designation a plus
  • 3 - 5 years' experience in Payroll/HR in a manufacturing setting an asset
  • Knowledge of Employment Law
  • ADP Workforce Now Payroll system experience is a MUST
