About Our Client

A leading development and construction firm is seeking a Senior Land Development Planner to lead the strategy, planning, and execution of large-scale, complex land development projects across South Western Ontario. This is a senior-level opportunity for someone who thrives on navigating regulatory frameworks, solving complex challenges, and building communities from the ground up.

Job Description

  • Lead and manage diverse land development projects, ensuring alignment with zoning, environmental, and regulatory frameworks
  • Conduct detailed site assessments and feasibility analyses to support acquisition and planning decisions
  • Develop master plans for residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use projects
  • Navigate complex entitlement processes including rezoning, variances, and site plan approvals
  • Collaborate with internal teams, municipal officials, consultants, and community stakeholders
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources, proactively identifying and mitigating risks
  • Prepare and present high-impact reports and applications for municipal and regulatory approvals
  • Utilize GIS, AutoCAD, and planning tools to inform design, development, and reporting
  • Stay on top of industry trends and apply innovative practices in land use planning and sustainable development

The Successful Applicant

  • 6-10 years of progressive experience in land development planning
  • Degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Studies, Landscape Architecture, or a related field
  • Strong grasp of municipal planning processes, zoning by-laws, and development review procedures
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and drive results
  • Skilled communicator with the ability to lead meetings, present to municipal boards, and negotiate with stakeholders
  • Experience with environmental site planning and mitigation strategies
  • Comfortable with technical tools like GIS, AutoCAD, and project planning software
  • A collaborative, proactive leader who takes ownership and brings solutions
