Save Job Back to Search Job Description Summary Similar JobsExcellent Pipeline of Projects!Renowned Leadership Team!About Our ClientOur client is a leading national General Contractor focused on mixed use ICI construction projects across Canada valued over $100MM-$500MM+ who emphasis strong support, collaboration and positive internal culture.Job DescriptionKey ResponsibilitiesResearch and prepare estimates from first base principles including full measures of cost and price on construction projectsUndertake risk assessment on price, supply, demand, and length of projectIdentify opportunities for fee enhancement and schedule optimizationLiaise with programmers on project planningEstablish and maintain commercial relationship with Subcontractors and ConsultantsProvide input on construction project methodologies including sequencing, constructability, and site logisticsReview and critically assess external quantity surveyor's estimatesCritically examine and review estimates prepared by other team members within the work group and provide mentorship and coaching to junior staffProvide expert cost planning and estimating advice and guidance to other team members within the work groupKeep up to date with new construction materials, methodologies rules and regulationsMaintain a database of cost information including but not limited to cost feedback from bidsPresent tender estimate to credit committee prior to submissionCo-ordinate with key personnel on preparation of all tenders for the purpose of winning workConduct bid leveling alongside the procurement team by reviewing trade scopes, validating inclusions/exclusions, and selecting best-value pricingBuild and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and scope coverageDemonstrate estimating experience across Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) sectors, healthcare projects and hospitals, including multiple delivery modelsMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class otherwise protected under applicable human rights legislation.
