The General Superintendent will provide senior construction leadership across multiple active ICI projects, overseeing Site Supervisors and ensuring excellence in safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance. This role is ideal for a strategic construction leader who excels at standardizing processes, mentoring teams, and driving consistent project execution.

Job Description

  • Lead, manage, and hold Site Supervisors (Senior, Intermediate, Junior) accountable across multiple projects
  • Oversee daily site operations and ensure consistency in QA/QC, safety, and scheduling standards
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, manpower planning, and look-ahead schedules
  • Support Project Managers in achieving financial targets and mitigating construction risk
  • Review and approve site labour hours and productivity performance
  • Enforce Ontario safety regulations and COR program compliance
  • Mentor, coach, and performance-manage site leadership teams
  • Participate in internal construction meetings, tenders, and select client meetings
  • Report key project risks, performance metrics, and issues to senior construction leadership

The Successful Applicant

A successful General Superintendent should have:

  • Minimum 10+ years' experience as a General Superintendent
  • Strong background in ICI construction, including retail, commercial interiors, and ground-up builds
  • Proven ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated success developing and leading Site Supervisors
  • Strong communication skills with clients, site teams, and executive leadership
  • Deep understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and site operations
  • Thorough knowledge of Ontario safety legislation and COR requirements
