About Our Client

Our client is a leading CPG and manufacturing company headquartered in Markham.

In North America, the are still growing aggressively through organic and inorganic strategies casting a wide net of client base including individual retailers, contractors, designers, big-box stores, and real-estate developers.

Job Description

  • Support the month-end closing process including account and report reconciliations, accruals, journal entries and analysis
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliation and perform P&L and variance analysis
  • Participate in a year-end financial review conducted by an external auditor
  • Support financial reporting and sales tax filling functions, including sales tax and income tax filing(T2) and T2200
  • Perform daily cheque deposit and post daily cash receipt posting and reconciliation
  • Perform AP functions including posting invoices, conduct analysis, reconciling vendor statements and help manage vendor communication & relationship
  • Prepare payment run in CAD with EFT, wires, and cheques for vendors; prepare payment run in USD using FX provider, booking FX gains & losses while executing hedging strategy
  • Examine and monitor employee expense and reimbursement in Concur
  • Participate in the quarterly forecast and annual budget preparation and updates
  • Support a ad-hoc activities/projects related to the general accounting and finance

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree required in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience required
  • Strong General Accounting experience with full cycle accounting, standard costing and multi currency
  • Experience in year-end financial review conducted by an external auditor
  • Excellent in writing, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite including Word, Excel is required
  • Commitment to excellence and impeccable ethical standards and integrity
  • Advanced time management, attention to detail and organization skills. Adaptable and flexible with an ability to respond to changing work priorities, pressures and demands
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Experience with ERP system, preferably AS400 is an asset
