About Our Client

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Construction Estimator with a strong background in Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) projects exceeding $10 million.

Job Description

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for ICI construction projects ($10M+).
  • Perform quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Develop bids, tenders, and proposals, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documents to determine scope and requirements.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to assess project costs and timelines.
  • Identify and evaluate potential cost-saving strategies and value engineering opportunities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
  • Stay up to date with Ontario Building Codes, industry regulations, and market trends.

The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum 5+ years of estimating experience in ICI construction projects ($10M+).
  • Diploma/Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Timberline, HeavyBid, or similar).
  • Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Construction Act, and industry standards.
  • Certifications (preferred but not required):
    • Gold Seal Certified (GSC) - Estimator
    • Certified Engineering Technician (CET) - OACETT
    • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) - PEO
    • LEED AP BD+C (for sustainable projects)
    • PMP (for project coordination experience)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
