Job Description

  • Lead and manage the corporate accounting team, promoting a culture of growth and excellence.
  • Oversee the general ledger and accounting software to ensure accurate financial record-keeping.
  • Monitor the accuracy of financial data and ensure proper bookkeeping practices are followed.
  • Manage all aspects of payroll processing, including deductions, reconciliations, and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate and ensure timely completion of tax filings and government reports.
  • Prepare year-end working papers and financial statements.
  • Oversee treasury functions and monitor cash positions across all entities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate chargeback processes and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Maintain timely and accurate management reports for all entities.
  • Continuously assess accounting operations, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Design and maintain accounting and internal control systems and processes.

The Successful Applicant

  • University degree in Accounting, Business, Finance
  • CPA designated
  • 7+ years of accounting experience, ideally in the real estate/construction sector.
  • Managerial/Leadership experience.
  • Proven experience in preparing and filing taxes, acting as the liaison with the CRA and external accounting firms.
  • Expertise in managing multi-entity corporate structures and intercompany accounting.
  • Experience overseeing payroll and tax compliance.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong analytical and independent thinking skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Proven track record of thriving in fast-paced environments while meeting multiple deadlines
