Our client is seeking a visionary Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to lead external capital engagement and drive the incubation of new ventures and subsidiaries under its innovation platform. Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the design and execution of the group's investment and portfolio strategy.
    • Engage with external capital funds, institutional investors, and strategic partners to attract investment and co-development opportunities.
    • Manage partnerships with venture funds, PE firms, and sovereign wealth entities.
    • Identify, incubate, and manage NewCos or spin-out ventures within the group platform.
    • Oversee capital structuring, governance setup, and financing strategies for incubated companies.
    • Build long-term partnerships to accelerate technology transfer and pipeline expansion.
    • Support corporate M&A, licensing, and joint venture activities.
    • Collaborate closely with CEO, CFO, and R&D leadership to align financial strategy with corporate innovation goals.
    • Present investment recommendations to the Board and manage stakeholder communications.

Le candidat idéal

A successful Chief Investment Officer should have:

  • PhD, MD or other advanced degrees from life science related area.
  • 10+ years of experience in biopharma investment, corporate venture, or strategic finance.
  • Proven success in raising capital, structuring funds, or managing biotech venture portfolios.
  • Background with global investment banks, corporate venture arms, or top-tier biotech companies highly desirable.
  • Strong network among global investors, funds, and strategic partners.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with hands-on experience in venture incubation.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bilingual fluency in Chinese and English preferred.
