Our client is hiring Big Data Java Engineer to lead the design and development of its Trading Risk Warehouse platform, a critical solution used by Risk Analysts, Traders, and Executives.

Job Description

  • Develop high-quality code for distributed computing on the Hadoop platform.
  • Build and modify components for web UI, REST APIs, and ETL data pipelines.
  • Perform unit and integration testing to ensure code reliability.
  • Identify and implement code optimizations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues by identifying root causes.
  • Continuously improve processes, architecture, and software quality.

The Successful Applicant

  • Programming & Frameworks: Java/JEE, Spark/Scala, Spring Boot, Angular, REST API
  • Big Data & Databases: Hadoop, Hive, Cassandra, NoSQL, MS SQL Server
  • Tools & Platforms: Git, Linux
  • Experience with Agile development and modern DevOps practices
  • Hands-on experience with market risk and/or PnL.
  • Strong experience working with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark/Scala, and Hive.
  • Proficient in building microservices using the Spring framework, particularly Spring Boot.
  • Strong experience in Linux environments.
  • Skilled in designing and integrating RESTful APIs.
  • Significant exposure to messaging technologies (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • Solid understanding of RDBMS with strong SQL skills; experience with NoSQL databases like Cassandra.
  • Proficient with Git, CI/CD tools (e.g., Maven, Jenkins), and working in Agile environments.
  • Experience developing scalable, low-latency systems.
