Job Description

The successful Supplier Quality Manager will join a market leading Quality team.

The Supplier Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for coordinating efforts to achieve Zero Defect at supplier base by ensuring suppliers are adhering to the company and Industry standards necessary to continue providing automotive best quality components and service. In this position, you will be responsible for managing a team of Plant Supplier Quality Assurance engineers and Material Quality Services technicians

The primary duties for the Supplier Quality Manager are;

    • Manage problem-solving activities to identify contribution of supplier component issue/defect in production line fallout's and customer returns. Coordinate with production, product quality, process engineering, design engineering, and the supplier as necessary
    • Monitor and assess Plant SQ activities for suspected Non-Conforming Material.
    • When component is found not conforming to defined specification/drawing/requirement, drive supplier closure in terms of effectiveness and punctuality
    • Initiate cost charge back to supplier, and further support Purchasing and Finance to pursuit the completion of supplier charge back
    • Support and manage Plant SQ in escalating to Electronics global SQ and Purchasing organization according to Escalation model.
    • Control Quarantine/Incoming/Containment inspection activities of non-conforming material to ensure continuous certified supply to production.
    • Monitor and review Supplier Quality ratings on regular basis for supplier quality performance and responsiveness.
    • Manage Plant Supplier Quality Assurance engineers and Material Quality Services technicians team resources and coach the teams for continuous improvement

The Successful Applicant

The successful Supplier Quality Manager will have;

  • A minimum 3-5 years of work experience with supervisory experience in a Supplier / Quality role.
  • Electronics manufacturing experience in the areas of microprocessors, circuit boards, micro-electro-mechanical sensors as an asset.
  • Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Degree/Diploma would be an asset.
  • Read and interpret Electrical schematics
  • Read and interpret Mechanical drawings, dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
  • Familiarity with QC lab testing
  • Strong background in 8-D & problem solving techniques
  • Familiarity with TS standards , ISO14001
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
