About Our Client

Our client is a well-known, Toronto-Based developer. Due to continued growth and project pipeline, they are looking to add an experience Site Superintendent to the team.

Job Description

  • Day to day planning and supervision of all onsite construction activities.
  • Responsible for the supervision of construction job assignments carried out by all trades
  • Coordinate work of assigned trade contractors with the work of other contractors
  • Maintaining accurate documentation, including drawings & change order information, drawings logs and site binders
  • Identifying and rectifying deficiencies in all work
  • Prepare a daily superintendent logs
  • Organize and supervise day-to-day activities
  • Direct and coordinate operational, management, and supportive services
  • Prepare employee work schedules and issue workers' timesheets for payroll processing
  • Prepare and submit detailed and summary reports of construction activities to designated supervisors.
  • Ensure all work is completed as per required standards
  • Manage and coordinate pick up and drop off materials to job site when needed
  • Attend required meetings including with prospective clients
  • Track financial performance of project(s)
  • May perform other related duties as required
  • Maintain excellent relationships with client, engineers, consultants, subcontractors and public
  • Develop, monitor and update project schedule. Ensure subcontractors comply with project master schedule
  • Assume responsibility for productivity of trades and subcontractors, efficient use of materials and equipment and contractual performance of the project
  • Create project master schedule and detailed look ahead schedules

The Successful Applicant

  • 5+ years of proven experience as Superintendent
  • Post-secondary diploma/university degree in Building technology or a related field
  • Thorough knowledge of health and safety regulations, budgeting, invoicing and the Ontario Building Code
  • Excellent understanding of construction methods, construction sequencing, scheduling and blueprint reading
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and has strong time management, organisational and planning skills
  • Exceptional knowledge of all aspects of construction and its phases through completion, such as; technology, modern construction practices, equipment, methods, trade agreements and jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, scheduling and safety requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and has strong time management skills
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills; personable with vendors, clients, consultants, trades, regulators and owners
  • Possesses strong leadership, organisation, problem solving, communication and relationship management skills
