Our client is a notable real estate and development company with communities across the GTA.

Job Description

The Senior Project Accountant will have a large breadth of roll, inclusive but not limited to the following:

- Responsible for project costing and real estate development accounting for several projects simultaneously inclusive of setting up all project financials

- Submission of development construction draws and serving as a liaison between cost consultants, project managers and finance and accounting executives

- Creation and implementation of coporate policies, processes and procedures

- Budgeting, forecasting, cash flow projections and budget v. actuals variance

- Active involvement in year end audit

- Bank credit\ cash management - preparation of monthly draws for bank and BA rollover and monthly banking reposting

- Prepare year end working papers for external parties inclusive of cost to complete analysis and cost share reconciliations

- Support to the VP of Accounting in ad hoc projects

The Successful Applicant

In order to qualify for the position, candidates must possess the following skill set:

- CPA designation with minimum 4+ years industry experience in real estate & development

- Experience in a project accounting role handling mid rise or high rise development projects

- Strong experience in working cross functionally with Project Management and Cost Consultancy teams

- Experience in audit \ handling year end audit requirements

- Exceptional communication skills and ability to present to executive leadership
