Job Description

  • To provide Technical information/advise/feedback, to Customers and other departments, on product inquiries or complaints, process troubleshooting, policies and guidelines.
  • Protect the company from possible financial loss due to sub-standard ingredients and packaging material through effective testing and sampling programs.
  • Ensure that all products meet or surpass defined standards of quality by developing, implementing and monitoring an effective Quality Program to the HACCP standard and QCSMS Standards.
  • Support quality and food safety programs including HACCP and FSCC-22000 challenges.
  • Must ensure that quality is built into the early stages of Innovation all the way through launch and they are systematically reviewed to identify any gaps.
  • Must ensure that product quality and processes function is designed in the manufacturing plant with shop-floor Operator education and involvement in all processes especially as it relates to the HACCP program.
  • Coordinate with and source resources from departments in other manufacturing plants as needed and ensure that the plant activities are aligned with corporate objectives as it relates to Supply Chain capabilities.
  • Assist production in root cause analysis and complex problem solving in the case of any Quality incident to prevent further risk or a re-occurrence.
  • Must continue to support employee education and participation of Quality priorities.

The Successful Applicant

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Food Science.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 5 years' experience in a Quality Assurance role within a plant environment.
  • Previous experience in the management or supervision of direct reports.
  • In depth knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
  • Required knowledge of HACCP & Food Safety
  • Continuous improvement methodology experience strongly preferred (WCM, TPM, Lean, 6 Sigma, etc.)
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Project Management experience.
