Job Description

Our client is seeking a Director of Business Development who will be responsible for identifying, qualifying and closing work opportunities. They are seeking a sales professional with an extensive book of business and a technical background in industrial construction. The Director of Business development will leverage their strong background in complex b2b sales to expand and develop relationships with our client's key customers. Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Manage large accounts and identify upcoming projects within key client organizations
  • Coordinate the competitive bid process and ensure that large-value comprehensive tender packages are submitted on time
  • Map and identify various buying influences throughout key client organizations
  • Create strategic account plans for each key customer. Generate SWOT analysis documents for each key client.
  • Facilitate communication between customer contacts and the internal operations team. Build and expand client relationships and relay key customer win-results to internal operations teams.
  • Provide market information to our client's executive management team. Contribute to strategic planning at an organizational level.

The Successful Applicant

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 12 years' experience in business-business sales (preferably within an industrial construction business)
  • Technical/operational experience in the industrial construction industry. Technical trade designations are considered a strong asset
  • Must have proven success in sales management with high value client organizations
  • Post-Secondary Education is an asset (preferably with a focus on business management, commerce or engineering). Industry equivalent experience is also acceptable.
  • Experience with long-lead sales. Must have proven success generating revenue through complex account management
