Canada has some of the cheapest housing in the developed world. The country has huge forests and timber is readily available as a building material. Cost for rentals can vary depending on size and type of accommodation.

  • Meal with wine/beer: $50 - $120 per couple
  • Local food: About $15 per person will get you very good local fare. There are many different varieties of Canadian food with many different prices.
  • Train: $10.00 starting price (increases with mileage)
    Taxi: $2.75 staring price plus additional money per mile
    Subway: $2.50 starting price
  • Movies: $13.95 - $9.95
  • Starbucks: about $5.00 for Cappuccino

Transportation

Despite the size of the Canada, it is relatively easy to get around. Transportation within Canada can be by Rail, Road, Water, Piped, or Air. The Toronto subway and RT is the main rapid transit railway system in Toronto. It is the third largest public transit system in the world and is operated by the Toronto Transit Commission and is used by many business workers.
